Naraina, Mayapuri and Kirti Nagar are West Delhi's working sheds. Very little here is a single-product plant. Most units take job work — a hydraulic press today, a fabrication batch tomorrow, an assembly run next week. Machines are often second-hand, rebuilt, or assembled locally around whatever was available.
That has a direct consequence for instruments. There is no original datasheet to buy against. The gauge on the press has a scale nobody can read, a thread nobody documented, and a bracket somebody welded on. When it fails, the question is not "what does the specification say" — it is "what will fit and read correctly".

Hydraulic gauges shaken to death. Presses, power packs and shearing machines pulse hard. An unfilled gauge on that duty has a working life measured in months. Glycerine filling and a snubber cost very little and roughly double it — and a snubber is often the whole answer where a shop is replacing gauges every season.
Gauges reading the wrong part of the scale. A 0–400 bar gauge on a 60 bar circuit cannot be read accurately, and a 0–60 bar gauge on the same circuit sits at full deflection and takes a permanent set. Wrong-range gauges are the single most common thing we correct here.
Oven and heat-treat temperature without control. Small curing and paint ovens are often run on a contactor and a guess. A simple PID controller with a proper sensor pays for itself in rework alone.
Air lines with no pressure reference. Pneumatic tools and presses run softer as a leak develops. Nobody notices because there is no gauge, or because the gauge stopped working two years ago.
Glycerine-filled gauges in the range the circuit actually runs, snubbers for pulsation, pressure switches and isolation valves so a gauge can be changed without draining the system.
Temperature controllers, RTD and thermocouple sensors, panel indicators, and alarm annunciation where an interlock actually matters.
PID controllers with the right output for the heater, correctly sized sensors, and ramp-soak programmers where a cure profile is being run.
Diaphragm seal gauges with wetted materials matched to the bath, and tank level switches chosen so they do not stick in the media.
For hydraulic and pneumatic workshops: glycerine-filled pressure gauges in the range the circuit actually runs at, snubbers for pulsating service, pressure switches for pump control, and isolation valves so a gauge can be changed without draining the system.
For presses and machine tools: temperature controllers, RTD and thermocouple sensors, panel indicators, and simple alarm annunciation where an interlock matters.
For ovens, paint booths and heat treatment: PID controllers with the right output for the heater, sensors with an insertion length suited to the chamber, and ramp-soak programmers where a cure profile is being run.
For electroplating and pickling: diaphragm seal gauges with the wetted material matched to the bath, and tank level switches that will not stick in the media.
Despatch here is rarely a production line. It is a bench, a few cartons at a time, and often mixed sizes because the job changes. Table-top strapping machines and semi-automatic carton sealers are the right scale — they run on a single-phase socket, take a metre of bench, and can be moved when the shed layout changes.
For heavier engineering output going out on pallets, a box wrapping machine with a top press stabilises the load, and hand pallet trucks handle the movement across an uneven floor.
We quote strap, tape and film with the machine. In a job-work shop where volume varies, knowing the per-carton consumable cost matters more than shaving a few thousand rupees off the machine price.

Almost always pulsation, and usually a wrong range as well. A glycerine-filled gauge with a snubber, sized so the normal reading sits in the middle of the dial, typically lasts several times longer. The snubber costs very little.
