Vedika Instruments has manufactured process instrumentation and packing machinery in Faridabad, India for over nine years. What we ship to Indonesia is built on the same line, to the same drawings, with the same calibration discipline as what we supply to an Indian refinery — there is no export-grade and domestic-grade version of anything we make.
The commercial case for Indian supply into Indonesia is straightforward. Indian manufacturing cost is materially lower than European or Japanese equivalents while the applicable standards — EN 837 for gauges, IEC 60751 for resistance thermometers, the usual accuracy and IP norms for transmitters — are the same standards, not a local substitute. Sea freight from Nhava Sheva and Mundra is short by international standards — around twelve days for a typical consignment — and our working day overlaps enough with yours that a specification question asked in the morning is usually answered the same day.
Equally important for an overseas buyer: a wrong instrument is not a small problem. Returning a mis-specified transmitter across a border costs more than the transmitter. So we build to the datasheet rather than to a catalogue approximation, we certify and document precisely, and we check the paperwork before the crate leaves — because paperwork that does not match the goods is the single most common reason a shipment sits at a port.
EN 837 gauges, IEC 60751 Class A sensors, transmitters to international accuracy and IP norms — with the certificate to prove each one.
Certificate of Origin, MTC, traceable calibration, packing list and invoice prepared to match the goods exactly.
Sea and air freight to Tanjung Priok Jakarta, Tanjung Perak Surabaya, Belawan Medan and air freight into Jakarta — FOB, CFR or CIF as your terms require.
Process instrumentation and packing & sealing machinery from the same works — one PO, one shipment, one point of contact.
Two separate demand curves matter to us, and both are rising.
Process instrumentation. Indonesia has the largest manufacturing base in South-East Asia and an unusually broad one: palm oil milling and refining, petrochemicals at Cilegon, fertiliser at Gresik and Bontang, nickel and copper smelting, pulp and paper, cement, and thousands of medium-sized food plants. Palm oil alone is a large instrumentation consumer — every mill runs steam, presses and sterilisers, and all of them need pressure gauges, temperature sensors and level instruments in a hot, wet, corrosive environment.
Packing and sealing machinery. Indonesian food and beverage manufacturing is enormous and fragmented, running from multinational plants down to regional producers. The mid-market — a plant packing several hundred cartons a shift — is where our strapping machines, carton sealers and wrapping machines fit, and it is a market where a European machine is often over-specified for the job.
Indonesian buyers are experienced value sourcers and will compare an Indian quotation against Chinese and Taiwanese alternatives. Our answer is not to be the cheapest but to be the one with the standard behind it — EN 837, IEC 60751, real calibration certificates — at a price that still works. We also quote in writing what is and is not included, because an unclear scope is the usual reason a first order does not become a second.
Steam pressure gauges, steriliser temperature sensors, level instruments and diaphragm-seal gauges for hot, corrosive service.
Cilegon, Gresik and Bontang — pressure and DP transmitters, flameproof sensors and thermowells to project datasheet.
Nickel, copper and bauxite — slurry-service gauges, high-temperature thermocouples and panel instruments.
Sanitary RTDs, hygienic gauges, clean room monitors, plus strapping, carton sealing and wrapping machinery.
Steam thermowells, multi-channel scanners, level and flow instruments, annunciators.
Boiler drum gauges, steam-service sensors, flow meters and electrical measurement instruments.
| Category | Typical items exported |
|---|---|
| Pressure | Bourdon, diaphragm-seal, capsule, contact-type and differential gauges to EN 837; pressure switches; HART pressure and DP transmitters; remote-seal transmitters with capillary. |
| Temperature | Pt100 RTD assemblies to IEC 60751 Class A; mineral-insulated, quick-disconnect, sanitary and flameproof variants; thermocouples types J/K/T/R/S/B; bar-stock thermowells (threaded, flanged, weld-in); head, DIN-rail, field and HART transmitters. |

The more of this you send with the enquiry, the closer the first quotation will be to the final one — and the less chance of a wrong instrument crossing a border.
Medium, working and design pressure, working and maximum temperature, and whether the service is clean, corrosive, viscous, slurry or crystallising.
Process connection size and thread standard (NPT / BSP / flanged with class), wetted material required — SS316L, Hastelloy, Monel, tantalum.
Safe area, or Zone 1 / Zone 2 with gas group and temperature class. Say which certification the project accepts — this decides both price and lead time.
4-20 mA, HART, Modbus RTU or TCP; local display required or not; SIL rating if the loop is part of a safety system.
high tropical humidity, heavy rainfall and corrosive palm-mill atmospheres all change the housing and the IP rating we quote.
Incoterm (FOB, CFR, CIF), port of discharge, quantity and delivery schedule, and any inspection or third-party witnessing required.
Documentation is where an export order is won or delayed, and Indonesia has its own requirements. Every consignment we ship carries a commercial invoice and packing list that match the goods line for line, a Certificate of Origin, material test certificates for wetted parts where the datasheet calls for them, and traceable calibration certificates for the instruments that need them.
Indonesian imports require an importer identification number and, for regulated goods, SNI certification and Ministry of Trade approval — all held by the Indonesian importer. We supply the technical file, test reports and declarations required and work with the importer's customs broker on HS classification before shipment. We say this plainly rather than promising to "handle it", because a supplier who claims to issue a certificate they cannot issue is a supplier whose container gets held.
| Sea freight | From Nhava Sheva and Mundra to Tanjung Priok Jakarta, Tanjung Perak Surabaya, Belawan Medan and air freight into Jakarta. Typical transit is around twelve days port to port, subject to sailing schedule. |
|---|---|
| Air freight | For urgent breakdown replacements — instruments are small and light, and air freight is often cheaper than the downtime it prevents. |
| Packing | Export-grade wooden crates with ISPM-15 heat treatment marking where required, moisture barrier and desiccant for electronics, cushioned gauge packing. |
| Incoterms | FOB, CFR and CIF quoted on request. Ex-works available where your freight forwarder collects. |
| Payment | Irrevocable letter of credit, and standard export terms as agreed. Advance and part-advance terms for smaller repeat orders. |
| Lead time | Quoted per order. Stock items ship quickly; project and engineered builds are scheduled and confirmed in writing before the PO is accepted. |
Standards we build to: EN 837-1 and EN 837-3 (Bourdon and capsule gauges), IEC 60751 (Pt100 / Pt1000 resistance thermometers, Class A / AA / 1⁄3 DIN), IEC 60584 (thermocouple types and tolerance classes), ASME PTC 19.3 TW (thermowell wake frequency calculation on request), IEC 61508 (SIL 2 rated transmitters where the loop requires it), and NAMUR NE43 failure signalling.
Certificates supplied with the consignment:
What we will not claim: we do not issue SNI / Ministry of Trade certificates ourselves — those belong to the importer of record — and we do not quote a lead time we have not scheduled. Both are said in writing before the order is accepted.
Instrumentation and packing machinery exported across the Gulf and beyond.
Vedika Instruments manufactures process instrumentation and packing & sealing machinery in Faridabad, India, and exports both to Indonesia. Gauges are built to EN 837, temperature sensors to IEC 60751, and transmitters to international accuracy and ingress norms — with material, calibration and export documentation prepared to match the goods. We supply plants and EPC contractors ordering to project datasheets across Jakarta, Cilegon, Surabaya, Gresik, Medan, Balikpapan and the palm oil belt of Sumatra and Kalimantan, and distributors building a catalogue locally.
Indian manufacturing cost, a around twelve days sea transit and overlapping working hours make us a practical source for Indonesia. Documentation is where an export order is won or delayed, so we prepare it to match the goods line for line and raise any SNI / Ministry of Trade requirement at quotation stage rather than at shipment. Send a tag list, a datasheet or a photograph of the instrument you are replacing, and we will size it, quote it and document it properly.
